It's Official!

We're adopting! This morning we got the call that we have been officially accepted into the Vietnam Program at Families Thru International Adoption. We have always talked about adopting after having two kids the biological way, and in early October we decided it was time to look into it. After more than two months of research and contacting about two dozen agencies, we finally chose our placement agency (FTIA -- they will be working with Vietnam and doing the actual placement of the child) and our Homestudy Agency (XXX (name removed 3-14-07 because I don't recommend them now) -- we have to have an IL licensed agency do the homestudy portion).

Tonight is our first Homestudy meeting. I can't believe the process is actually underway! I've always known I would adopt someday, so this has been a long time coming for me. John and I are so excited to be adding to our family -- we've already bought Vietnamese language cd's! :)

Now starts the process of mountains and mountains of paperwork and government clearances. It's going to be a crazy time, but SO worth it!

What a fantastic Christmas gift!
